Back to Africa is a division and funding arm of the The Black Table Fund. Back to Africa was established as a means of reconnecting our people to Africa. As victims of slavery, we have lost our connection to the Earth and the Motherland; and Back to Africa seeks to bring a little bit of the Motherland to you!

MISSION OF THE BLACK TABLE FUND
The Black Table Fund seeks to use a holistic approach to assist rural, low in communities to develop required knowledge, skills, abilities and resources needed to build and maintain thriving communities, lifestyles and/or business opportunities.
At the Black Table, we also provide financial counseling and life coaching. Dr. Calhoun is a Certified Financial Education Facilitor as well as Certified Life Coach with a primary focus on grief and second chance coaching.

Director's Bio
Dr. C is the director for The Black Table & the Owner of Back to Africa. She possesses a Certification as a Certified Customer Service Specialist, Certified Financial Education Facilitator, Certificate of Natural Medicine, and most recently, Certified Life Coach(focusing on grief and second chance coaching).
Dr. Melinee Calhoun is the South GA Regional Organizer for Black Voters Matter Fund. She holds a Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice, Masters of Business Administration and a PhD in Public Policy & Public Administration. Her research explored the cause and effects of juror misconduct & verdict errors; and the title of her work is “Uneducated injustice: A social cognitive approach to understanding juror misconduct and verdict errors”. She runs her own non-profit organization named “The Black Table” as well. Her life’s passion is to serve, enrich, empower, embolden and educate her community. She lives by two philosophies: 1)compete only with one’s self and make certain that you are better and stronger tomorrow, than you are today; and 2)Life is most fulfilled when it is spent in service to others.
